Does anybody have any suggestions on what would be a cool module to add to Iris?

I was thinking,

  • Gmail Checking and Unread Email Briefing
  • Google Calendar Integration
  • Onboard Sphinx4 speech recognition to allow for it to be activated and respond without having a single click
  • Twitter Checking
  • New York Times Headlines.

Let me know if what you think would be useful. I will try and work on those aspects of it and obviously anybody can hack away at them too.

Cheers

Samir

I think we should incorporate ChaCha.com too - it provides answers to a lot of questions people ask.

API here: http://developer.chacha.com/The_ChaCha_APIs

Would translation be something of interest? Google translate can take in voice input and return a synthesized translation.

Calendar integration would be neat.

Regarding Calendar Integration - Should I just have the user enter google account information on start up? Or is it better to use OAuth, I alway feel like OAuth is too complicated.

  • I think i might do the NY Times top headlines next.

Let's just do the enter account info method for now, unless you've already started OAuth
