What's the status of this project? Since latest update is 3 years ago, was it discontinued?

Hi @tcztzy , yes this project should be marked as DEPRECATED.
While there is not currently a library that replaces it, the concepts here could be rewritten in a new library that leverages STAC metadata, which would make it much more general. I'm working on some related projects that aren't quite open-source yet, but will be so keep an eye out.
