recursive option?

In the manpage there is an option "-r" that is supposed to make it "lightning fast", but when I tried to use it, it only told me this option doesn't exist.

Did I do something wrong?
If not, you might want to update the manpage.

Semi-Off-Topic: Can we please get an option to make it faster? Like caching all the pages, or setting a cache size? I frequently have to go through long documents with big images on every page and going to the next page can take quite a while. I'm using fbgs for now, which preloads every page, but it looks really bad compared to green
