Step one.
Get chatgpt. Free will do unless you cant wait. After passing a limit you have to wait a few hours. If you have prime, go ahead.

Purpose: Understanding which chromebooks were made with the same specs of your laptop.

1. On chatgpt. Always say hi😊

2. Say you want to "find chromebooks with *eg: intel i5 4th gen processors" important to specify this. And add touch screen/screen size (important. I specified range. Eg: 13-14 inches. If u have multiple usb ports then range it like so etc). Ask to filter top to bottom by year of manufacture.

3. Hit go

You can also ask to refer to cros.tec and tell you the board name. But i do a bit of extra good old google just to double check since there are vaiants to different laptop models.

With chromebooks- they guarantee software updates for 10 years so if the device you selected is between the 10years u will get the same duration of updates for the recovery aka chromiumOS aka chromeOS.

The old process:
The long process was to google for information and find what other users have tried. Or similar laptop models and see if they boot. But due to the said varient issue, the chances of booting was less. If you have a device you bought in 2014 then 2024 counts 10 years. Google will still provide security updates. But not os updates after 10 years. If 2014 then you will still be able to #brunch 126 (LATEST) with latest chromeos 126. But latest isn't the best. GO STABLE.

My setup:
I am u using 120 brunch with 120 image for ekko as my daily driver. Dualbooted with windows 10 following the brunch instructions.
The best among rammus sammus etc i tried.

Tried:
Far too many image to count until i started doing this method.

EG: booted OS126 using acer chromebook 11 spin (larva) image. But seems google has disabled playstore. I am able to disable the Google apps and possibly install an alternative but didnt try. I wanted to see if i can try another.

ALSO TRIED: Asus chromebook flip C213 (reef/basking) image and same thing happened.
