There's a similar project called Electrino.

Should these efforts be consolidated or are the projects different enough?

I'm not working on this at all AND likely won't anytime soon. That project is way ahead, looks like it's doing what I would have done. This project is very minimal.

If I pick it up again, I'll check in and see if it's just worth joining that project. So thanks for pointing it out!
