On my Galaxy S2, after exiting Serval my hotspot name is still mesh.servalproject.org

Can the original be preserved and restored?

Android only has one configuration for the current hotspot. If you tweak the settings in the android hotspot configuration UI, we will need to be careful with how these settings are changed.
While we want to simplify hotspot configuration to enable users to setup a network, we should be asking for permission to do so.
We need to look at how the user can manage a set of adhoc and hot spot configurations and easily swap between them.

The new wifi control process will attempt to restore the users previously saved configuration when Serval is responsible for disabling hotspot mode. No attempt is made to restore configuration if the user turns off hotspot mode from the android settings ui.
