How to Test <DropDown> with React testing library #2072

I tried writing a unit test code to click drop down item with React testing library. I am not able to make drop items visible.

    let buttonDropDown = container.querySelector("button");
    expect(buttonDropDown.textContent).toBe("FL");
    fireEvent.click(buttonDropDown);
    console.log(document.body.innerHTML);

could you share a reference
