Steps to reproduce

  • press OPTION-RETURN to insert a carriage-return on OS X

Actual result:

  • nothing happens

Expected result:

  • carriage return is inserted, formatting message to the next line

see: Twitter, Apple Messages, any popular chat app, etc.

I assume that Shift-Return is the Windows convention; Option-Return is the OS X one.

How do we get this prioritized?

Shift+Return is not the MacOS way of doing it, should be Option+Return to add line breaks.

It'd be a breaking change for Mac users, so we'd have to add Option+Return support and keep the old behavior too. Happy to take a pull request for that.
