When in the office it is more convenient to type and interact with signal on the desktop. I am not however the only user with access to the machine and system administrators can access my user account if required. I currently link and unlink signal desktop every morning and evening as I arrive and leave, however the conversation history is visible in the desktop client even when started unlinked.

Requirement: Use signal in a mode that starts with an empty database and requires linking with every use, automatically unlinking itself and clearing the database when the application is closed.

Stretch: A purely portable version that writes nothing to the filesystem of the host machine.

I think another suitable solution would be some sort of password lock-down , eg #2073
The data is kept there, but encrypted and only you can open it.
