Feature Request

When hitting esc in a conversation, exit the conversation and return to the view "welcome to signal"

I agree that hitting Esc in a conversation should exit the conversation. I don't know whether the original suggestion was that it would hide the open conversation list, but that shouldn't be done. Instead, the ability to switch quickly between chats, like in Telegram, is a huge time-saver and is worth implementing.

How to switch to the most recent chat in Telegram:

Press Esc, then down, then Enter.

This takes only a fraction of a second and comes from muscle memory after doing a couple of times. Esc closes the chat and focuses the search field above active chats. Down moves focus to the first chat. Enter selects it.

Switching from chat to chat with mouse, on the other hand, will require you to take your hands off the keyboard, reaching for the mouse, moving it from its current location to the chat you want, clicking it, and then moving your hand from the mouse back to the keyboard. This will take several seconds, can't be automatized in muscle memory and will distract user's concentration more.

From a privacy perspective, it would be good to be able to have not a conversation open.
