Desktop Feature Request: Add a Preference to add Send Button #3580
Comments
I would also like an option in the windows version where I could use the 'enter' key to simply go to the next line. I'm used to that working in many apps so I hit the enter and send a separate line. |
I agree, it would be nice to have a setting for this behavior. There are currently two options to send multi-line messages:
It would be nice to opt in to functionality similar to option 2, without having to expand the composition input each time. A send button would be a welcome addition, even without the rest of this feature. The composition area seems bare without it. |
I actually prefer using Shift+Enter for newlines, but I would very much like to have a 'Send' button available to hit with the mouse. |
+1 on the send button, I often times send emoji only messages to people and having a send button would allow me to only use the mouse for this. |

Hi,
I would like to have the option (in Preferences) to change the Send behavior, at least for the Desktop version. Enabling the alternate Send behavior in the Preferences would add a Send button to the right of the text entry box. Selecting the Send button would send the text to the recipient. If I hit the enter key on the KB, text entry would go to the next line, like a standard carriage return. I realize that I can get the behavior I'm looking for by doing a , but this is not standard, so I tend to frequently mess it up. Also, it's likely that many people don't know about it ...
Thanks,
Richard
