making federated messaging possible

hello all,
I love Signal and especially that there is a non-profit foundation behind it all, but please make it possible for the app to federate to other messaging apps! Non-federation is starting to become outdated really fast, it is a remnant of the old monopoly-style thinking of the past 20 years in ICT. I'll probably switch to RiotX soon for this reason, but would love it if Signal made the change!
