[Desktop] Poor Multi-Monitor Support #3978
Comments
@joshsweaney Can you talk about your monitor/hardware setup a little bit? I tested this briefly on macOS, and the preferences window opens appropriately on top of the main window. This longstanding Electron seems related: electron/electron#1836 |
Looks like that electron issue could be the cause of it. I have two monitors plugged into my machine, one of VGA and one on DVI. If I place the Signal window on the secondary monitor and select any option which opens a secondary window (e.g. preferences) it opens on the primary monitor. |
Reproducing the issue with Kubuntu 19.04. 2x 1920x1080 displays. The "preferences" UI always shows up on the display marked as "primary" by Kubuntu's display manager. The preferences UI is also missing window decorations and cannot be moved or re-positioned. |
