Sometimes when I'm using Signal on MacOS, it asks me "Signal update available / There is a new version of Signal available". I click Restart Signal but the next day it says the same thing. I get the feeling that it is not working and stuck in a loop. However I'm not sure, maybe there is another version two days in a row. I see in #2220 where someone mentions at the bottom that they release three new versions in a week.

Can we improve the UX on updates somehow? In particular, I propose that the message includes your current version number, the new version number, and perhaps a few sentences on the changes? That way if I see the same message two days in a row, I will see that the version numbers are increasing, and that the reason for the update is changing.

Platform Info

Signal Version: v1.37.2

Operating System: 10.15.7 (19H2)
