Disappearing message timer should apply to all chat events #5101
Comments
Since I filed my issue, I have now found a 3 year old issue that is the same #3672 on the iOS app area. And yes, the bug still exists in iOS. |
Personally, I wouldn't call this a "feature request" but a bugfix. |
This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions. |
Has this been fixed? I'm not 100% sure. |
There are some improvements in the latest version: https://community.signalusers.org/t/beta-feedback-for-the-upcoming-desktop-5-18-release/37094 There could still be some other things left, you'd have to test this. |
Bug Description
I have set the "Disappearing Messages" feature to a non-forever value, such as one week. Messages that are sent do, indeed, disappear. But ALL items in the chat history should also disappear, specifically, video call history.
I have made video calls to a contact, items such as: "Outgoing Video Call, Mar 4 10:11am" show in the chat history. These items do NOT disappear in the designated timeframe.
Steps to Reproduce
Expected Result:
I expected ALL events within the chat history, regardless of type of event, to disappear from chat history in the specified timeframe.
