Using a supported version?

  • I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

Some Display P3 photos do not render correctly

The issue does not occur in Chrome or the mobile app (at least on iOS).

Steps to reproduce

Send this image in a chat:

Expected result

should look like it does in, for example, Chrome. Higher contrast, image is bright.

Actual result

Image is very dark and has very little contrast

I recognise in an environment where HDR doesn't work having the image display perfectly won't happen, but I'd at least like for it to be correctly mapped to sRGB!
