The Icons option in the editor has some weird behaviour

This can be simply replicated and I encourage that whoever is looking into this issue tries to use it for a bit.

When you add an icon to a new paragraph it seems fine.

When you add an icon to an existing paragraph the icon is placed in-line but then the font changes. Then when you press enter the icon is duplicated (and keeps happening on subsequent presses). Very odd...:

It sounds like the FontAwesome plugin isn't working correctly or the font for it isn't being loaded

This is bizarre and I can't see an easy workaround, so bumping to impact/high

I wonder if we can switch to emoji support instead of FontAwesome...
