Due to the ongoing transition of the Sinara ecosystem to DI/OT standard, it's time actually to evaluate DI/OT chassis performance in terms of power, thermal and signal integrity.
To automate the task, let's build a simple 4-layer board with the following features:

  • 16 LM75 thermometers (or even more precise ones), routed through I2C mux if necessary, placed evenly across the board
  • output of all sensors are wire-or and disable the heaters when the temperature exceeds 85 degrees (or programmed value)
  • 4-layer design, compatible with AISLER process
  • 16 resistive heaters (5W each), each controlled by PWM driver over I2C with common disable (OE pin) controlled by LM75 outputs
  • MCX output of PE CLK (via balun)
  • MCX output of 12V rail via 1:10 compensated divider
  • MCX output of wideband balun measuring signal between GND and panel screws
  • LED bar-graph showing 12V rail loading (up to 60W) - the same as in DIOT PSU (8 LEDs)
  • 12 bit I2C ADC measuring 12V and 5V rails currents and voltages
  • all LVDS looped back: 0 to 8, 1 to 9, etc
  • MGT loopback
  • design based on DI/OT template together with sequencer
