Nothing spectacular here, really; I'm writing this more for myself than anyone else.

the
.vimrc
looks monolithic, and it is, if you consider only those features that I want everywhere I use vim. But there are a lot of extra settings that I don't really need everywhere, and they are distributed among a dozen or so files in.vim/plugin

I don't use any package manager; just vim 8.x's builtin mechanism. The list of plugins is in a file called
.list
in.vim/pack/common/start
; if I have to start from scratch on a new machine on which I want everything I just clone them all, then register them inmyr
. Updates are handled bycd ~/.vim; myr pull
.See https://github.com/sitaramc/notes/blob/master/myr.mkd for details, but it's a very simple shell script that lets me run the same command on multiple repos, basically a very minimal clone of Joey Hess's

my own customised help for stuff I tend to forget is in
help.mkd
; hitting\hh
opens a pager on that file for quick access.
