Install Python

Steps to install Python on a MacBook

  1. Open the official Python website (https://www.python.org/downloads/mac-osx/) in your web browser.
  2. Download the latest version of Python for macOS by clicking on the "Download Python X.X.X" button (where X.X.X is the version number).
  3. Once the download is complete, open the downloaded file and follow the installation wizard.
  4. During the installation, make sure to select the option to add Python to your system path. This will allow you to use Python from the terminal.
  5. Once the installation is complete, open the Terminal app on your MacBook.
  6. To verify that Python is installed, type the following command in the terminal: python --version. This should display the version of Python you just installed.
  7. You can now start using Python on your MacBook by running Python scripts from the terminal or using an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) like PyCharm or Visual Studio Code.
