Broadcast Popup or Beep is not displayed #309

Mac OS 10.10.1

Launch the applet and login with valid credentials
Wait in the applet until a system message is displayed for a new contest registration phase

Actual:

No Broadcast POPUP or BEEP sound is displayed/heard. (though it is not disabled in the options)

It used to display a Popup with a Beep sound in the last test cycle.

Expected:

Broadcast Popup and Beep sound should be heard
