The same for me. SmartIR no longer works with Core 2024.12.0.
I have also switched back to 2024.11.3.

this also works with 2024.12.1

Edit the aiofiles requirements line of /homeassistant/custom_components/smartir/manifest.json

OLD: "requirements": ["aiofiles>=0.6.0"],

NEW: "requirements": ["aiofiles>=0.8.0"],

This worked for me ;)
