Why design directive？

Could it lead to better performance? As a React user, I think directive bring a lot of learning and cognitive costs to users. Can't I implement business functions without directive? Instead, with directives, it becomes very type-unfriendly.

To be honest, I am very optimistic about solidjs, but I feel that solidjs wants everything. In fact, it can be designed to be more streamlined and lightweight. It only needs to ensure that the basic core concepts are stable, and the rest is left to the community to build. That's it
