How to Connect Songify with the YouTube Music Desktop Player

Follow these steps to connect Songify with the YouTube Music Desktop Player (YTMDesktop):

  1. Install YTMDesktop

    • Download the latest version of YTMDesktop from here.
    • Install the application and run it.

  2. Enable the Companion Server in YTMDesktop

    • Open YTMDesktop and click the Cog-Wheel icon at the top to access Settings.
    • Navigate to the Integrations tab.
    • Enable the option Companion Server.
    • Enable Allow browser communication.
    • Also enable Enable companion authorization. (Note: This setting turns itself off after 5 minutes.)

  3. Link Songify to YTMDesktop

    • Open Songify.
    • Go to File -> Settings -> YTMDesktop.
    • Click on the LINK 🔗 button.

  4. Authorize the Connection

    • After clicking LINK 🔗, YTMDesktop will display a 4-digit authorization code.
    • Ensure the same 4-digit code appears in Songify.
    • If both codes match, click on Allow in YTMDesktop.

  5. Confirmation

    • Songify and YTMDesktop are now linked successfully! 🎉
