Notification when having been accepted for a group

After applying and being accepted to a group it is not very clear to the new member that one has been accepted.
The new group appears at the bottom of the groups list. It should be at the top of the list and have a little 'new group' icon like when one was invited to a new group.

Also there should be an email notification. I didnt get any so far
