It looks like the Etherpad is open to everyone
is it possible to limit it only to synapse users?

I would like to know that too.
Something is off with my install:

  • plugin installation takes 20min
  • plugins disappear
  • setting changes don't get saved

I was playing around with etherpads settings under /matrix/etherpad/config/settings.json and made following experience, I could not find more documentation than this: https://etherpad.org/doc/latest/

  • edit_only (called editOnly in settings) seems to be the option we need, it limits pad creation to API. But dimension seems to not create pads using API but just generates and accesses the link, so does not work.
  • I did not find out where to make changes to settings so that they will survive a setup-all command
  • plugin installation takes forever, so I did not look into plugins, found issues on there github about it.

I created an issue at dimensions github to discuss using API to create pads: turt2live/matrix-dimension#513

+1 for authentication

I did try to edit the configuration in the etherpad admin, but on restart it is always reset.
is there a way to pass the options in the playbook config?

Kind regards,
Patrick
