Seems like the XML itself definition also contains trailing whitespace: https://github.com/spdx/license-list-XML/blob/cb00a23b3b52d7cb20f5f3d2d69ff40c13f9c7f0/src/MIT.xml. It's unclear to me whether this issue is belongs to LicenseListPublisher or license-list-XML, so apologies if I've opened this issue on the wrong repository.
