I have ceated a js wrapper to improve client search and I'm looking for some testers. I'm using rtd-theme and have tried a coulple others and seems to work, but would like some feedback as well. The wrapper is to the Sphinx searchtools.js in the sphinx pyton package.

Does it support only certain versions of Sphinx (i.e. versions of searchtools.js)? I've created an internal wrapper to searchtools.js for a different purpose and it is very version dependent.

Not sure 100%, that is why I'm asking for testers. It should since to uses the exisiting frame work that searchtools.js uses. I'm not just copying the searchtools.js from the package and editing that. It's pretty easy to install and doesn't effect any package or themes you have install.

Your comment is great- thank you, exacly what I'm looking for. I should probilably include what version I'm on, but it's the lasest I keep my packages up-to-date.

Hi @wfahren thanks for sharing your work. I like the wrapper approach and also landed on that design for some other search customization I've been exploring recently.

Pretty cool that you figured out AND logic. That's the most important missing feature from default searchtools.js IMO. I would expect words without quotes to be the AND logic, though, and exact phrases only available through double quotes. The clear highlights syntax seems a bit weird and hack-y, I'd leave that out all together.

@kaycebasques , Updated the non-quoted logic to OR, makes more sense for sure. I have been thinking about that as well. Keeping the clear highlight hack, always open to better ideas on how to clear highlights? For me, I don't like highlighted words when reading text, once I have found what I'm looking for. You don't have to use that feature, but is there if you do.
