Based on discussing with the community, we will be adding support for managing ClusterFederatedTrustDomains through the backend API. This issue will track the work to be done.

  • Add and document configuration section for enabling spire-controller-manager APIs (Add SPIRE Controller Manager configuration Section #532 )
  • Add APIs to create the CRDs
  • Document API behavior properly - requires changes to /api/v1/spire/federations APIs
  • Document usage requirements - in K8s this feature requires updates to the Tornjak/SPIRE service account
  • (maybe) Add information in the /api/v1/tornjak/serverinfo API to publish this setting so clients can know to use which API
