The XML abstraction in Spring Web Services, is quite useful in non-web service scenarios too (XML, XPATH handling).

Could it be moved from SWS to SPR ?

Also since #9933, some code from Spring XML (StaxSource, StaxResult) has been duplicated to Spring Core.

Having only one implementation would simplify XML usage in Spring.

It is already available as a separate module 'spring-xml' that has no dependencies on SWS. Seems to be quite enough.
