Thai H opened SPR-16658 and commented

Javadocs for org.springframework.util.ReflectionUtils.doWithLocalFields() method is not correct.

"Invoke the given callback on all fields in the target class, going up the class hierarchy to get all declared fields."

The method just processes the fields belong to the provided class, not parent classes.
