Not likely to happen unless someone forks it, the only mod I still work on is AppleSkin these days.

Note also that this relies on AppleCore, which is also not being updated (squeek502/AppleCore#142) and the effort to get its features merged into Forge has seemingly stalled (MinecraftForge/MinecraftForge#8405)

I really miss this mode.
The spice of life mods that currently exist try to give benefits and penalties to the "player", not the "food".
