When I want to play music, all I hear is white noise through my sonos speakers.

When I open the mp3 radio stream (on port 8000) I also hear that same noise.

I'm running node v0.10.24 and the latest git version of airsonos.

Any ideas what could be wrong ?

Same I get static trying to play from iTunes on my Mavericks machines, but it works fine playing from iOS devices. This happens whether airsonos is running on my Mac or BeagleBone.

Ugh, iTunes is the source of so many ills.

streaming iTunes is not supported currently, as it sends ALAC (See issue #9).
Support on the raspberry pi is in my experiences also rather bad because of poor encoding performance (see nicercast stephen/nicercast#2).

Hi folks, as @knusprig55 mentioned, streaming iTunes directly isn't supported. However, if you're running OS X, you can get the system audio to stream to AirSonos just fine.

Instructions should be to launch AirSonos, then alt+click the volume icon in your status bar, and choose AirSonos @ ___ in the menu that pops up.

@stephen True, but that's not total parity as it only allows playing to a single device at a time. Within iTunes, you can stream to multiple AirPlay speakers simultaneously.

@dinomite: Hmm, yes. Currently the workaround for that is to group devices within the Sonos controller.
