touchscreen input for waveshare35a not working on 5.4 or 5.5, but is working on 5.3 #29

The display works fine on 5.3 using the fbtft module backported from 5.4, and with current fbtft on 5.4 or 5.5.

I've tried compiling the ads7846 module from 5.3 and using it in 5.4 but that doesn't work either.

Any ideas?
