Your question:
We would like to be able to use spatial columns from either a Presto/Trino datasource or our custom Minerva connection datasource.
The data source has a string geom column for a shape (ie. "POLYGON(x,y, x,y...etc). We need to use this geom column as a spatial polygon shape on the Tableau map.
The issue:
Tableau cannot recognize this column as a spatial column when there is a live connection.
We tested this same data with a sample extract in a csv file and it does work. However, We need it to work in the live db connection. Ideally this would work in both Trino/Presto connector as well as our custom Minerva connector.
