Currently each widget that requires a form that is different from the auto-generated ModelForm has to implement its on form. This is a bit cumbersome when creating new widgets. Each widget should provide a simple method that provide custom settings for form field that are then used by a form creator to generate the corresponding from derived from WidgetForm.
