Pop-up card is not fully hidden when not in editing more

My Home Assistant version: 2024.8.3

What I am doing:

I have several pop-up cards in a section view in the dashboard.

What I expected to happen:

The pop-up cards should only be visible while in editing mode.

What happened instead:

The content of the pop-up cards are hidden when not in editing mode but they still consume space in the layout which results in gaps.
