saw this on reddit, in case you weren't aware Metrolinx does actually have an API (albeit a very hidden one) here which has UP express and GO.

The only thing they don't document properly is how to authenticate: you pass a query parameter key with the key you get.

Good news is I've received the API access rights
Bad news is it's not great at showing the next departures

While we wait for their API to improve / change their ETA prediction vender, some ideas:

  • GO train might do better than GO bus? Need some help verifying that as I don't take GO trains often
  • We may show relative bus distance to stop instead? Although we'll need to differentiate buses arriving vs buses just left
