Slows down/freezes after multiple runs #10

When using flashcards and cutscene, running code multiple times gets slower and slower each time, getting stuck within several runs

Only reported on chromebooks and macs so far, not reproducible on windows laptop (Jason's).

Did several tests and wasn't able to reproduce. Tests:

running flashcard code 6x in a saved file, with no code changes
running flashcard code 6x in an unsaved file, with no code changes
running flashcard code 6x in a saved file, with very minor changes
running flashcard code 6x in an unsaved file, with very minor changes
running flashcard code 10x, progressing through coach training assessments in a saved file
running flashcard code 10x, progressing through coach training assessments in an unsaved file

Other potential tests to try:

multiple windows or tabs open
more significant code changes between runs
going to other tabs, using computer during runs
