Remove archive button from mail list (multi-select) view #5517
Comments
There's a feature request to configure the actions in the message list: #5502 You could hide the archive button by setting Settings > [Account] > Folders > Archive folder to None. We're not going to move the archive button by default. A lot of people are using this functionality. |
Tried that but the button is still there (seemingly doing nothing, but the selection is lost if you mistakenly tap on it) |
@detoxhby: Ah, I forgot about that. It's a bug. Fixed in K-9 Mail 5.802, available to beta testers on Google Play right now. Or download the APK here: https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/releases/tag/5.802 |
I use it as well but mark-as-read is used 30 times more...that's what I was referring to. |
I appreciate the new design but there's a fault with the Archive button during multi selection.
It is absolutely furiating when you accidentally press it instead of the right-next-to-it mark-as-read button and you have no way to even revert the operation for 30+ mails selected. Even more problematic when you use the composed-all-inbox and then you need to restore emails to different IMAP folders (which is sometimes impossible as you can't remember where every single email was).
I'm using K9 in mixed environments and archiving shouldn't be a quick action, or at least shouldn't be next to the mark-as-read as it's so common and easy to mistake that it's just makes no sense.
I recommend putting the archive button into the (dotted) submenu or as a minimum change the two button should be switched (mark-as-read must be on the right-most side as the most commonly used one).
Thanks you!
