Hard to unfloat tabs in edge dropmode

When dragging a float tab, for example in drop-mode demo, the only accepting drop areas are next to other tabs, otherwise you just move the float tab. If there are no non-float tabs, and no normal drop mode diamond, there is no way to unfloat a tab.

This in current version, back in 2.6.2 there would be drop zones if you got somewhat close to the outer edge of the layout.

Is this a bug? Or an intended change?

it still works for me in the latest version.
is it possible some of your css broke the dock-place holder?
