Sometimes posts do not have featured image , but instead there might be a will to display the author of the article. Might be useful for something like a site for academic publications in which the content has very little meaningful images, but it is important to differentiate between the authors.

I still think it is a good idea but for now, lets sleep on it and schedule it for 5.1
