Awesome. Sorry for the slooooooow reply. Are there people testing it right now? I will be very excited to see what everyone thinks of it.
So, it has been so long, I decided to open up the original comp that I made a while back (I attached the Trips screen). There are some changes you made that I like, and a few things that I miss.
Soooo...the feedback:
Overall Design
I think there is inconsistency with the coloring throughout the site. The greens and oranges of the buttons do not match the oranges and greens of the icons and footer. If you would prefer those particular shades, we can discuss that, but we should be consistent. :)
I am not sure I like the 3D treatment (the text shadow, I believe it is called in CSS?) on all of the navigation and footer text, search terms, and the buttons. Perhaps it is my print background speaking, but I am loving more flat web design. I am obsessed with the flatness of the design for Rdio right now. http://www.rdio.com/home/
I think several of the type sizes and colors are not consistent with the comp too. If you made those decisions specifically, let me know, if not, I can send you a break down of the colors and sizes for each style.
Header
I originally made the header turquoise, which I think I still prefer. The reasoning behind that is the turquoise is the main branding color for T&T, and I thought it didn't look as jarring against the dark brown. The green is a bit strident for the header, and since a lot of the buttons are green, I think the green color looks overwhelming in general, especially on the Trips page. How would you feel changing it back to the turquoise? I would keep the footer the green.
I noticed you shifted the navigation button closer to the left. I am unsure if I like it better, but I don't mind it. It does differentiate the sign in button better from the rest of the navigation.
I like the selection treatment you are using for the navigation. I think I would like the additional change in opacity for the navigation too, though. The text looks kind of heavy right now, and the opacity could change that. Or removing the shadow, I guess. That also allows for a rollover where you can rollover the text, and it brightens to pure white. What do you think?
Footer
The spacing is off for the columns of text...could we have them be equidistant from each other?
Also, I think it would be good to have the links to the app stores instead of just the text. Do you need me to supply that art for you or is there some code that will allow you to do that? Let me know and I can put them in the sprite, or send them to you.
The copyright and the "Brought to you by" text should be the gray color (I have it as 7a8c96 right now). It also looks like the letterspacing is a bit large.
I think that is it for general layout! Let me know how you feel about the feedback. Again, for the text, I can send a specific breaking down of each style if you need it.
Thanks!
