Search functionality sometimes does not trigger map change

This bug has been difficult to reproduce consistently.

Usually searching for a place in the search bar will transition the app to the index route, setting the map and pin using the search results.

However, sometimes the transition happens but the map is not set to the new location, but instead stays on the old location. In this case, the bbox param is set for the original location, but the pin param is set for the new location. Refreshing this url sets the map to the new location.
