Enhancement: Please add another option to file selection when adding new torrent #852
Comments
a smarter use of this function would be to auto select the biggest file or files bigger than x MB or GB, meaning the video and not the text nfo files. |
How is this issue labelled as an "enhancement", "low-priority", from 2015? This is a critical must-have feature!
|
all good points and i would add that some torrent sites add files like an EXE file which isn't valid and could be a malicius file that could be potentially dangerous if downloaded as part of a torrent that is not a game or software (ie: film, tv or music) |
Is not rational ask to modify a program for a need YOU HAVE. I am downloading torrents for YEARS and never have this need. |
Let's do a quick test...
@antekgla THERE ISN'T a SELECT NONE button and I cannot select only the file I WANT when the Files panel/file tree is blank. |
When you add a magnet, is no way to know the list of files because that LIST OF FILES IS NOT PRESENT IN THE MAGNET until you star the download and Transmission connect to another client and request that list to another peer. |
Exagram, so much pushback from antekgla, it's like he doesn't care. it is par for the course with this guy. i mean take the template feature for example, wich since its addition in the Add torrent dialog box, is just a textbox that does nothing. it was intended to tell TRG to pre-select files matching a file name pattern, like say mkv,mp4. Which would solve this problem of downloading "server side injected files" that nobody wants like exe and nfo. So much pushback from antekgla on everything, nakes me think either he doesn't want to work on the code or doesn't know how to code such a simple thing. personally i haven't bothered reporting bugs or giving new ideas in years because of his bad attitude and lack of commitment to the project. He didn't even bother add the blue selection square for multiple file selection that has been often requested. it's been sorely missing in TRG since day 1, it's a pretty standard basic feature in pretty much every program, ever. it's a rational and logical feature. Or maybe he just doesn't care. the pushback is strong with this one. Best to fork this project and forget about him. Good luck antekgla, and good riddance. |
If is a "simple thing" like you said, code yourself and make a commit Here I saw many people demanding things (you are one of them) and very few people contributing to the code. Fix Issue #884 (A Issue YOU started) How many commits fixing things YOU HAVE DONE? |
