Describe the bug
A few updates ago only a few emails are loading in my Inbox. Currently I have 12 emails in my Inbox. These emails can be seen on my iPhone and iPad. However, on the desktop version only the last 3 emails are showing.

The client is not offline.

In order to resolve this issue, I need to...

  1. Click "Sign Out"
  2. Select "Remove Account"
  3. And next to my email address I have to select "Delete".
  4. Now I have to type in my email address/password to login again.

This resolves the issue until the next update. Then I have to repeat the process because my emails disappear again.

To Reproduce

  1. Wait for an update.
  2. Update desktop client.
  3. Only a few 1-3 emails will show in the desktop client. However, on iPhone/iPad all emails in the Inbox are visible (currently 12).
  4. In order to show all emails in the Inbox I need to delete my account (not just "remove" it) and login again.

Expected behavior
When the client is online, all emails in Inbox should load. I never use the client in offline mode.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: macOS Monterey 12.7.6
  • Version 253.241203.1 (253.241203.1.865)

Thanks for your report. It's concerning that this is happening to your account each update, we would like to look at it a bit closer. Could you contact support via help icon in the app if you are a paying customer or send the details to hello [at] tutao.de if you are not so that we can look at your specific case? It's probably best if you include a link to this issue in the mail.

Received, thanks a lot. I can confirm that there's definitely 12 mails in the inbox, but as of yet I can't see anything obviously wrong with them. It's not very satisfactory, but the next time this happens I would like to ask you to send us the logs of the client through Settings -> About (lower left) -> Send Logs. It'll open a mail editor with some attachments where you can inspect it and reference this issue again before sending it.

If it's consistently happening and you don't mind to completely remove your accounts before a test, you could even try downloading an older client from the releases page here on github (https://github.com/tutao/tutanota/releases) and let it update to get some logs.
