I'd like to get this project un-stalled. I understand we have a number of discussions on this point, eg #301 #272, #275. This ticket is not a discussion. It is for progress on getting the app ready to not conflict with the Pomodoro Technique's trademark claims.

I will be using the name tomatillo because it has a similar rhythm and shape and use. It also alliterates in the phrase Tomatillo Timer. I'd also encourage other open source projects to use the term, much like the genericized name of RC4 was ARC4. If you don't like the name, I don't care because 90% of the point of this ticket is identifying what needs to change.

  • minimal changes to get it building again
  • rename app and internal references to "pomodoro" to tomatillo
  • change references to methodology to use the term "Pomodoro Technique"
  • change the icon to be green

Does anything else need to be done to comply?

@josephholsten There is a maintained fork under a different name - it is called Timer. https://github.com/martakostova/pomodoro

@rpavlick awesome! is @ugol interested in having that be the official successor to pomodoro? Or to bring that codebase into this repo?
