Fail to create GlideClusterClient

Im using AWS Elasticache with Valkey serverless instance and im failing to create GlideClusterClient. Im getting ClosingError with timed_out exception. When i try to connect to the instance using redis-cli it works. Even tried to connect using the GlideClient and same. What am i missing?

            await self.__client.ping()

This code works for me:

client = await GlideClusterClient.create(GlideClusterClientConfiguration([NodeAddress(address, port)], use_tls=True))

Your code looks valid.
Keep in mind, client checks and requires connectivity to all cluster nodes. Are you running your code in the same VPC? If no - do you use an SSH tunnel or VPN? Could you please validate that you can connect to all cluster nodes using cli tool?

Im running the code from my Mac using VPN.
Im able to connect to all cluster nodes using redis-cli, i used the CLUSTER NODES command to check it

Even when using standalone deployment, still not able to connect using the package. The error of time out is returned immediately

Can you post the command line you use to connect to redis-cli? You can remove IP address/port information, I'd like just like to know other flags you're using to connect.

Note: make sure the TLS flag is correct. If not, the client will timeout failing to connect.

This is the command im using and i successfully manage to connect to the deployment

redis-cli -h example_node_endpoint -p 6379 --tls

Even when passinc -c flag to enable cluster mode it works

Do you have any other backtrace from the error?
Can you confirm that non-tls is working?

We had an issue with serverless with node-client, which been fix but planned to be released at the end of NOV with 1.2.
Released an RC for node users to unblock, if its the same issue we can release for py as well.

Hi! 🙂 We’re still looking into the exact issue here, but we’ve seen other customers resolve VPN-related connection problems by increasing the connection timeout. Could you give that a try and let us know if it helps?
