In-app notifications

I can't find a bug for this, but i'm amazed it's not filed.

When I'm in a room and i get a notification in another room, i'd really like to see a popup notification slide in from the top to tell me what i'm missing (a la Facebook etc). Or at the last i'd like the 'back' chevron button to go red.

nowadays we have a badge next to the chevron showing number of unread rooms. However, it doesn't tell us when new messages appear in those rooms. It'd be really nice to have notifs for other rooms (as if they were push notifications) so you really don't miss messages elsewhere when using the app in another conversation.

This just bit me badly; i missed a bunch of urgent pings in other rooms while i was talking elsewhere in the app. The fact the chevron now caps out at 99+ notifs also makes it impossible to spot new notifs coming in.

Please can we prioritise showing notifs as they arrive within the app?
