Turning notification settings off for all these: banner, sound and badge, makes Riot.im considering iOS disabled the notification for itself. However, iOS's "Deliver Quietly" in the notification quick settings turns off all of these, only keeps notifications in the notification center.

Riot.im should not consider iOS disable the notification entirely, and disable push notification toggle when all of these has been turned off. Users can still get messages from Notification Center.

I will upload screenshots in the reply of the issue.

Does anyone know how to undo this? I set "Deliver Quietly" not realizing I would get no notifications any more and now I want to get notifications again. I re-enabled them in in the Notification Center, tried restarting the app and restarting my phone, but I still get no notifications. (I also double-checked my notification settings in a browser -- I have notifications enabled (and "noisy") for a things like DMs, but I'm still not getting them on my phone.)

I found the answer: in the Element app, from the home screen, if you click the gear in the top-left to get to "Settings", then scroll to "Notification settings", there's a toggle for "Notifications on this device". Turning that back on re-enabled notifications for me.

We should remove this option from the settings and trust OS settings chosen by the user.
FTR, we have this option before iOS offered more configurations regarding notifications.

This may be problematic in case of multi-account support. But for the moment, this options creates more bugs and bad UX than anything else.

One other option worth considering is replacing the option with a link directly to Element's screen in the Settings app. This way the user can quickly enable/disable notifications without having to hunt for it.
